Mandoline is Jaccard’s revolutionary Safe Hands™ food holder.
This patent pending design offers unparalleled safety, as it takes
advantage of the downward and forward motion required during
operation, to keep the user’s fingers securely positioned inside the
"finger cavity" of the food holder. This makes it nearly impossible
for the operator’s fingers to slip off the food holder and onto the
exposed, razor sharp blades …a common and often severe injury
suffered by professional chefs and home cooking enthusiasts alike.
The food holder also boasts one of the largest cubic capacities in
the industry, consisting of a base and a two piece telescoping top
that easily disassembles for cleaning.
SAFE HANDS™ Mandolines are available with up to
7 interchangeable blade cartridges, each constructed of stainless
steel and ABS plastic. Available blade types include a straight
blade for traditional slicing, a tomato blade, a serrated blade for crinkle &
waffle cuts, three julienne blades (4,6, & 10 mm) for making french fries, vegetable sticks, shoestring potatoes, etc., and
a cheese greater blade (7 blade model only) for grating cheese, vegetables
and other food items. Also available, a ceramic blade replaces
the straight blade on models marked "Ceramic Straight Blade".
Additional features include a hard plastic case for
storing the blade cartridges when not in use and slip resistant legs
that provide extra stability and fold so that the mandoline can be
stored flat.
The ABS Plastic Model has Jaccard’s patent pending
Dial-A-Slice™ System. This cam based mechanism allows the slice
thickness to be changed easily and quickly by simply pulling and
turning a dial. Users can select from six pre-set slice thicknesses
(between 1mm and 8mm).
Additionally, the ABS Plastic Model has multiple
notches built into the frame to allow for stable slicing / grating
directly over (and into) a sauce pan or mixing bowl.
Designed in the USA, the SAFE HANDS™ Mandoline is
dishwasher safe.
